The Natural History of Weardale

Online talk with Steve Gater

Following on from the recent new edition of The natural history of Upper Teesdale, Durham Wildlife Trust (DWT) is collaborating with a Weardale landowner to produce a similar, companion volume to tell the tale of another remarkable North Pennines dale, Weardale. Steve Gater has brought together a collection of experts in their field and knowledge of Weardale to give an authoritative and readable account of the richness of Weardale, from social history to geology, fauna, flora and conservation. He will describe the scope of the project and illustrate some of the special features emerging from the writing.

Steve is the editor of both books, former Chair of DWT and current Chair of the Brightwater Local partnership. He is also a keen botanist/naturalist and secretary of the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland.

Watch this talk from the comfort of home on the NHSN Youtube Channel, premiering Friday, 30 October at 7.00 pm.
