In preparation for the bumblebee season being in full swing, join Charlotte Rankin (NHSN Conservation Officer) for an online session designed to help you further get to grips with bumblebee ID and tease apart the difference castes of common bumblebees in North East England.

You will learn how to tell the differences between queens, workers and males. At this time of year, cuckoo bumblebees will also be emerging and a gentle introduction to cuckoo bumblebee ID will be provided.

Using these skills, you will learn more about how to submit your bumblebee sightings to the North East Bee Hunt and contribute to our knowledge of these iconic insects in the region.

N.B. Course attendees will receive a Zoom link ahead of the first session. If you are new to Zoom, you can find more information about using it at their website here.
