The UK has just one species of native otter - the Eurasian Otter - which is now present in all major and many minor rivers in the North East. However, until recently this was not the case as in the 1970s they were on the verge of extinction in England.

In this short course, Dr Vivien Kent will outline their ecology and explain how they were brought back from the brink. Suitable for beginners and experts alike, this course will give members a broad overview of one of the North East's most iconic mammals.

Course attendees will receive a Zoom link ahead of the first session. If you are new to Zoom, you can find more information about using it at their website here.
