About this event

Join Louise Hislop and Charlotte Rankin in search of upland bumblebees at Harthope Valley near The Cheviots.

Join us on a new series of bumblebee walks focused on upland habitats in the North East. If we’re lucky, we may encounter one or more of the region’s special upland bee species: Bilberry Bumblebee, Broken-belted Bumblebee and Moss Carder Bee.

Please bring your lunch, a drink, sturdy footwear and waterproofs.

The starting point for the walk is by Carey Burn Bridge. From Newcastle take the A697 to Wooler. At Wooler take Cheviot Street, then follow signs for 'Harthope Valley' via Earle and Middleton Hall for approximately 2 miles. Park on the wide grass verge just before the Carey Burn bridge. As parking is limited, please car share if joining the walk as a group.
