- Report on proposal and agreement of the alteration of the Rules of Society at a Special General Meeting held March 1897, to allow the Committee to admit a class of Associates who, at a reduced subscription, are able to visit the Museum and attend the public meetings of the Society. Such Associates are to consist of those whose income does not allow them to subscribe the full amount paid by ordinary members, and children of members under 21 years of age, and who are more or less interested or practically engaged in some Natural History pursuits. - Tyneside Naturalists’ Field Club have given 6 months notice of their wish to terminate the arrangement which was made with the Society in 1864. The incomplete parts of the Joint Transactions of the two societies must be completed before the arrangement can be terminated. The Society will then have to publish its own Transactions.
