Join NHSN volunteer and long time birder, James Matlock, for a wander along the Ouse Burn Way looking for urban birds.

About this event

Join NHSN volunteer and long term birder James Matlock for some urban birdwatching through Havannah Nature Reserve. This will be a relaxed, explorative walk focusing on Autumn/Winter woodland birds. Species which call this place home include Waxwing, Redwing, Fieldfare and Lapwing .

Please bring optics if possible, suitable waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear, and perhaps snacks/a flask of something warm to drink!

James Matlock is a NHSN volunteer and recently graduated the NHSN Field Skills Programme, and completed his research project 'Swifts in Newcastle Upon-Tyne: Their nesting habits and success' at Newcastle University.
