Join NHSN Senior Naturalist, James Common, for a botanical field trip to Hareshaw Linn, a beautiful sight famed its diversity of ferns. Along the way, we'll look for elusive species such as Oak Fern and Beech Fern, as well as the rare Lobed Maidenhair Spleenwort, a fern found nowhere else in Northumberland.
Other species likely to be seen along the way include:
Male-fern, Borrer's Male-fern, Golden-scaly Male-fern, Hart's-tongue, Lady-fern, Broad Buckler-fern, Hard Shield-fern, Lemon-scented Fern & Polypody.
This will be a relaxed, explorative walk. Please wear clothing suitable for the weather and sturdy footwear, and bring a hand lens if you have one.
