Description
Join James Matlock and Adam Ratir for a walk around Hazlerigg recording Swifts.
Join us for exiting evening of Swift spotting around Hazlerigg! As we walk around the area, we will look up and try and observe the Swifts as they feed and socialise in their 'screaming parties', and identify nests in the eaves and swift boxes of the houses below.
Throughout the night, you will learn about our local species of swift, their nesting habits, migration routes, feeding patterns, and much more.
Please note that you will need to wear sturdy footwear and suitable outdoor clothing. Wrap up warm as it can get chilly! We will be in areas lit up by streetlights, but feel free to bring a torch or headtorch as it can get dark. For health and safety reasons, hi vis is required - these will be provided but please feel free to bring your own if you have one. This event is open to everyone, but children must be accompanied by an adult
