June Holmes, Volunteer Award

June with her award!
Some of the North East’s most dedicated volunteers have been recognised for their work in the region’s museums and galleries at the annual Renaissance North East Museum Volunteer Awards 2011, held at the Great North Museum: Hancock in Newcastle.

Society Archivist June Holmes was amongst those receiving recognition. She was highly commended in the category “Contribution to Collections Care Award” for her fantastic dedication, hard work and enthusiasm in managing the Archives of the Great North Museum: Hancock. June works as a volunteer at least 3 days per week throughout the year and her knowledge and experience are invaluable to the Society and Museum. We are delighted that June has recieved public recognition for her work at these awards.

All the winners at this year’s awards were nominated by staff or volunteers at the region’s museums and galleries and the awards ceremony took place at the Great North Museum: Hancock in Newcastle upon Tyne on 25th Novemnber.
