Women Naturalists of North East England Exhibition Booklet

In the summer of 2018, NHSN created an exhibition that introduced visitors to some of the stories of female naturalists hidden away in our archive. Dr Claire Jones produced seven panels telling the stories of both botanists and artists Margaret Dickinson and Mary Jane Hancock; ornithologist Catharine Hodgkin; marine biologist Dr Marie V. Lebour; botanist Dr Kathleen Blackburn; bryologist Evelyn Lobley; and ornithologist and former NHSN secretary, Grace Hickling. Those panels are reproduced here in this small booklet, along with photographs of the women and images of their work.
