In line with our Action for North East Nature plan, we’re delighted to announce that we’ve been accepted onto Media Trust’s Weston Communicating Climate Programme, funded by Garfield Weston Foundation and MG OMD.
Following last year’s COP26 climate summit in Glasgow, the public concern for climate change was boosted at scale. As a result, one message became very clear. Compelling storytelling and clearer, more urgent communications can drive home to audiences that the time to act on environmental issues is now.
That’s why we’re taking part in the Weston Communicating Climate programme which is supporting 20 UK environmental and climate charities to extend the reach, power and impact of their communications. The programme will give us free access to expert-led training, networking opportunities, resources and one-to-one sessions with media industry professionals to empower us to influence the media discourse and public sentiment on climate change.
