Our supporters and volunteers are at the very heart of what we do. Our Supporter Promise sets out exactly what you can expect when dealing with NHSN.

Who are NHSN?

Our fundamental purpose remains unchanged since 1829: to study and protect nature.

Thanks to the support of NHSN members, volunteers work to protect, study and celebrate nature across the North East, from the Tees to the Tweed.

Together, they inspire wonder and encourage people from all walks of life to understand and enjoy the natural world.

We respect your wishes

We will never place pressure on you to make a gift or donation and respect your wishes and right not to do so.

We will never assume your consent to take part in an event or activity without asking you first, and will never assume you are happy to give your time to a campaign or cause.

As a charity, we exist thanks to your support, and we will do everything we can to keep your trust.
